Watch the Rare Venus-Moon Trail Past the Top of the Qutub Minar

On the night of 3rd December 2016, a rare celestial event took place. Venus, the second brightest heavenly body in the night sky, was pairing up with the crescent Moon. One could see the Moon quite close to Venus even with naked eye. Anybody could have mistaken the planet for a star.
As part of the Delhi Walk Festival organised by ‘Delhi I Love You’, a walk was organised to witness this celestial occurrence. The plan was to capture the pairing with the Qutub Minar in the foreground.
Fortunately, it was a clear evening sky, with less clouds, and no smog – a rarity given the level of air pollution in Delhi these days.
I clicked a total of 251 shots in a span of 62 minutes with an interval of 15 seconds each. After a lot of patience, the result was mesmerising, especially when we saw Venus trailing past the top of Qutub Minar.
