This year’s Google I/O wasn’t devoid of excitement as Google CEO, Sundar Pichai kicked off the event with a jaw dropping announcement. Pichai said that Google’s monthly Android active device user base has crossed the 2 billion figure.

Although, Google is making inroads in making sure that Android is the most extensively used OS but the company has also other services like YouTube, Chrome, Gmail, Search, Google Maps and Google Play that have more than 1 billion users. According to Google, people downloaded nearly 82 billion apps during 2016 and also tuned into YouTube to watch over 1 billion hours of video each day.

Google didn’t shy away from boasting other big numbers. According to the company, their Google drive now has 800 million users, and Google photos has crossed the 500 million monthly user mark.

Google’s AI dubbed Google Assistant is now available on more than 100 million devices and across over 70 different devices.
