Google Introduces Advanced Features for Translate
Google has introduced Tap to Translate on Android to enhance the Google translate feature for users.
Google has introduced Tap to Translate on Android. This basically eliminates the copy-paste mechanism when people want to get languages translated. Now, you can just copy the text of a chat, comment, song lyric, etc. in whichever app you’re using, and a translation will pop up right there, no need to switch apps.
Tap to Translate works for all 103 of Google Translate’s languages on any Android phone running Jellybean (4.2) and above.
The offline Mode now works on iOS and joins Android in using small offline packages. With Tap to Translate, improved Offline Mode, Google hopes to enhance the Google translate for its users. These updates are rolling out over the next few days.
In a blog post by Google India they also said that they’re adding Word Lens in Chinese. It’s their 29th language for instant visual translation, and it reads both to and from English, for both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Try it on menus, signs, packages, and other printed text. As with all Word Lens languages, it works offline.
