Facebook users on Tuesday experienced a technical problem that prevented them from posting on the social media platform WhatsApp, as well as on Instagram, Reuters reported. The outage also put a halt on WhatsApp for some time.

The report quoted the Facebook spokesperson as saying that the issue caused some people to have trouble accessing or posting to Facebook services and that the issue is nearly fixed, further apologising for the inconvenience caused.

Earlier today, a networking issue caused some people to have trouble accessing or posting to various Facebook services. We quickly investigated and started restoring access, and we have nearly fixed the issue for everyone. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
Jay Nancarrow, Spokesperson, Facebook

Nobody suffered the outage for more than 90 minutes, and it was not specific to a certain region.
