Shopping from within Instagram might not be high on demand, but that hasn’t stopped Facebook from supporting the feature. The option will make sure that you click on any item on the platform and be able to add to a card and checkout after paying for it.

This was announced at the Facebook F8 keynote by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the social networking giant on Tuesday.

This was part of a slew of launches done by the company at the developers conference, where Facebook also reiterated its focus towards privacy and ensuring its users don’t have to worry about mishaps anymore.

Instagram is an important product for Facebook, with more than a billion monthly active users (MAUs), and around 500 million of them using it every day. No wonder Facebook thought of adding a shopping feature to the supposed photo-sharing platform.

Facebook is looking for a converging experience within all of its products and shopping means, you will have to rely on a payment feature with the app as well.

Instagram will allow buying from creators of page.

Facebook didn’t exactly reveal when the option will be live for its more than billion MAUs, but we can expect the social networking platform to share more details closer to its release.
