Not everything you see on social media is worth clicking ‘like’ right? Sometimes you may feel sad, frustrated or even angry. Don’t worry though, Facebook has a solution for you.
On Thursday, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook announced the launch of ‘Reactions’- the new like buttons added options to express yourself. You will now have options of ‘Love’, ‘Haha’, ‘Wow’, ‘Sad’ and ‘Angry’ alongside ‘Like’ to react to a post on Facebook.
In a Facebook post from his page, Zuckerberg said he wanted to provide the people options to express their empathy and make it easy to share emotions.
Our community has been asking for a dislike button for years, but not because people want to tell friends they don’t like their posts. People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the right way to do this with our team. One of my goals was to make it as simple as pressing and holding the Like button. The result is Reactions, which allow you to express love, laughter, surprise, sadness or anger.

The most popular reaction, according to Zuckerberg, is ‘Love’ and to him, it feels ‘right’.
