Motorcycle company from the United States, Cleveland CycleWerks set foot in the Indian market at this year’s Auto Expo.

The company had set up base in the United States in 2009 and nine years after it’s establishment, the young company has found its way into the Indian market to tap into the wide customer base.

The Misfit

Cleveland CycleWerks are known for their small displacement retro style cafe racers. The US-based company showcased all five of their bikes at the Auto Expo. However, their plans for India include only the Misfit and the Ace for now, both feature the same 229 cc single cylinder oil cooled engine that churns out 15.4 bhp of power and gives a decent 16 Nm of torque.

The Ace will be launched in three variants, the Scrambler, the Cafe Racer (being called the Cafe 250) and the Ace Deluxe. All three are basically the same under the skin.

The power on the Misfit will be sent to the wheels through a 5 speed manual transmission with a Wet Multiplate clutch. The bike will feature single Disc brakes in both the back and front wheels.

The first generation of the Misfit was produced from 2010 and was in production till 2015, with the success of the bike, Cleveland Cyclewerks reworked their newer generation perfectly without letting go of the DNA of the first generation.

Cleveland CycleWerks have set up a facility in Pune where they will be assembling their bikes locally. The plant is said to have a capacity of building 5,000 units in it’s first phase.
