Now You Can Book Ola Outstation Cabs Via Google Maps

Ola partners with Google to integrate booking of outstation cab from Google Maps.

Ola on Tuesday announced that its riders can now book cabs via Google Maps, even if they’re travelling across states. Ola has joined hands with Google, that would help long-distance commuters discover Ola's "Outstation" category on Google Maps.

Currently, this partnership enables consumers to book cabs from 23 cities, to over 215 one-way routes in the country.

In the coming weeks, the integration would be expanded to 500 routes.

Once the destination is keyed in on Google Maps, the commuter can navigate on the transit tab and choose Ola as the commute option, and he or she would be taken directly to the booking screen on the Ola app.

Interestingly, the feature only works if you’ve already installed the Ola app on your phone.

Ola Outstation has gained significant prominence in the past year since its launch, and this association takes us a step further in making the category as reliable and convenient as intra-city commute

In October 2016, Ola integrated its intra-city cab travel options with Google Maps, enabling customers to discover cab options with estimated fares and the estimated time of arrival.

This feature is another attempt from the India-based cab hailing firm to counter Uber’s aggressive moves, and offer customers a wide-array of options.
