The Apple iPhone X is finally here. This new Apple flagship will be coming to India on 3 November. It’s going to cost you Rs 89,000 for the 64 GB variant, and as of now there is no pricing yet for the 256 GB variant. (It starts at $999 in the US.)

This is the first iPhone with bezel-less (or in simple terms, edge-to-edge) display. In addition to that, Apple has gotten rid of the Touch ID, and replaced it with Face ID, that recognises faces even in darkness thanks to infrared technology.

iPhone X (pronounced iPhone ten) is the big launch that Apple had been planning for its tenth anniversary. From whatever we’ve seen with the leaks, Apple has shown us what we expected. The iPhone X will be available in two variants: 64GB and 256GB.

The phone comes with a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display with 2,436 x 1,125 pixels resolution. The fact that Apple has gone with OLED for the iPhone X, has resulted in a longer wait time for consumers.

Globally, the pre-orders for the iPhone X start from 23 October, which is more than a month from now. Indian buyers will have to wait till 3 November to get their hands on the iPhone X.

We all knew that the Face ID was incoming with iPhone X, but Apple has taken off the Touch ID. They’re confident that the face recognition will be a secure path to go in the future.

iPhone X comes with vertical dual cameras at the back with two 12-megapixel sensors, where the wide-angle unit gets f/1.8 aperture, and the tele-photo lens offers f/2.4 aperture. Will it be good enough to rival the Galaxy Note 8? We’ll have to wait and watch for that.

On the front, iPhone X gets a 7-megapixel shooter, which is capable of shooting portrait-mode selfies.

Apple claims the iPhone X will last 2 hours longer than the iPhone 7

Apple has put all its eggs in one basket with the iPhone X, but with prices starting from $999 globally (but Rs 89,000 in India), it’ll be intriguing to see if buyers are willing to shell out almost a lakh this year.
