Samsung showed the world that they still believe in the edge display and a stylus as they unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in New York.
The all-new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is about to turn heads with their big and bright 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screens, 16-megapixel cameras and wireless charging.
But, what more does it have to offer? Lets find out.
Design
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI.
The phones has dimensions of 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 mm and weighs 153 grams. The phone is 20 grams heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ basically sports the same glass and metal build that is seen on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Display
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ sports a 5.7 inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels of resolution and 515 ppi of pixel density as compared to a pixel density of 577 ppi on the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Super AMOLED display on the phone has a screen to body ratio of 76.62%.
Camera
The primary camera on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a 16 megapixel one with an aperture size of f1.9, and comes with Optical image stabilization, Face detection, Smile detection, Digital zoom, Self-timer, Autofocus, Touch to focus and Geo tagging.
The camera can also shoot videos in 4K and1080p HD.
The phone also comes with a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies with High Dynamic Range mode (HDR).
The phone also lets you live stream videos natively on YouTube directly from the phone.
Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with the same processor that is on the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The phone comes loaded with a Exynos 7 Octa-core 7420 64-bit processor and ARM Mali-T760 MP8 graphics processor.
Along with all that processing power you also get 4GB RAM and 64 GB of in-built storage.
The phone comes with a non-removable 3000 mAh battery that supports quck charging and wireless charging technology.
Price and Availability
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is priced at $814.99 and $914.99 for the 32GB and 64GB variants respectively. The phone is available in United States from Aug 21.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium colour variants.
The registrations of the Edge+ have already started. In India, the phone is expected to land by Spetember and if you want one start saving for it now, because our guess is that it will be priced more than Rs 60,000.
