Airtel has set up the first of its kind, free WiFi hotspots in the NCR on Monday, which allows customers to enjoy free internet on-the-go. The service has been made available to users in the Gurugram region, with areas like sector 29, MG Road, Sarhaul village and Sardar Bazaar covered by the telecom operator.

So, if you’re around any of these places, just sign in to the WiFi SSID ‘MSG Powered by Airtel’ and avail of free WiFi service for 30 minutes. After which, however, you will have to pay to use the internet.

If the user is on Airtel’s network, then their usage amount will be deducted from their data plan. For non-Airtel users, the telco is offering recharge vouchers to access the service. Similar WiFi services were introduced by Tata Docomo in the capital some time ago.

With Airtel, one can expect fast internet reception on WiFi, but it will be interesting to see how they price the WiFi packs once the free time limit is consumed.
