Airtel‘s 4G Hotspot Router Now Available for Rs 399 With 50GB Data
The portable 4G Wi-Fi device to connect mobile devices with internet is available in a new deal from Airtel.
Airtel’s latest offering for the internet users in India pertains to its 4G Wi-Fi router and if you don’t want to spend on buying it as well as data, this new deal might work out best for you.
The telco has started a new plan, mentioned on its website, which lets you pay Rs 399 per month to use the Wi-Fi dongle (not own it) and get 50GB data 3G/4G depending on where you are. The unused data gets carried forward to next month, but once you exhaust your quota of 50GB for the month, the speed will come down to 80kbps.
This goes up against Reliance Jio’s own dongle offer, that comes for Rs 999 (totally yours) and you pay much less to get more amount of data.

But as things usually work, the offer is only applicable if the dongle is equipped with an Airtel SIM, and you’re paying Rs 399 for this deal every month. In case you decide to remove the SIM and use some other telcos SIM, the 50GB offering will not stand.
As you can see above, the dongle can connect to 3G/4G network on Airtel, and supports up to 10 devices with battery life claimed to last for up to six hours. If you would’ve bought this dongle separately, it would be priced at Rs 1,500.
Dongle plans are mostly expensive, forcing people to use mobile network via phones and switch to the portable Wi-Fi mode. For Rs 399 every month, Airtel’s 50GB offering might sound less generous, compared to its regular 4G mobile data plans these days.
And when you compare it with Jio’s three-monthly plans of Rs 349, offering more than 100GB data, this dongle plan from Airtel doesn’t really sound that appealing. Either ways, for people with less data consumption, 50GB should be able, especially when they can carry forward the unused data.
