Apple introduced the iOS 12 for the iPhone and iPad devices at the Worldwide Developers Conference on 4 June, with new features and improved AR capabilities. The thing that caught most people’s eyes, apart from things like Memoji and the group FaceTime, was that this update will be compatible with devices as old as the iPhone 5S that was announced in 2013.

Among iPads, the iOS 12 will be rolled out for devices as old as the iPad mini 2 which was also launched in 2013. The update will be out for the sixth generation iPod Touch as well.

After customer complaints of slower processing on their phones after updating the iOS, this time around, Apple has addressed the dissatisfaction and claims that the latest update will even make the older devices faster.

Apple claims that with the new iOS, the camera will launch 70 percent faster, the keyboard will appear 50 percent faster, and typing will become more responsive. Even when there is a lot going on across the system, apps will be able to launch twice as fast, they say.
