Now, a part of our excitement was because it was an OPPO phone and we couldn’t wait to click selfies with it. But what intrigued us the most was the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Beauty Technology that had become the talking point of the phone even before its launch.

Artificial Intelligence has made inroads into nearly every aspect of technology, but what’s it gotta do with selfies? OPPO F5’s 20-megapixel front camera has the answer. This is the first phone in India to use AI to capture the real you. It can recognise differences between skin tone, colour, age and gender of the subjects. The phone identifies intricate human features based on a global portrait database and uses all this information to make relevant beauty enhancements to your selfie. And mind you, these are not one-size-fits-all enhancements. If it’s a group selfie, each subject will have a customised beauty effect. We decided to check it out for ourselves and came away damn impressed!
The OPPO F5 has a 16-megapixel rear camera that gives you well-detailed pictures even in brighter and darker settings. The phone is great for shooting videos too, specially the colour quality. Here’s what it looks like.

While OPPO F5 has definitely upped the selfie bar by quite a few notches, what we also loved about it is its overall appearance. It has a sleek body that fits well in your palm and weighs just 152 gms. This means you won’t tire from using the phone for long periods. There’s also an understated elegance about the phone. We recommend you flaunt it at the next party you go to or at a family function and watch how it makes heads turn. The OPPO F5 is available in gold, black and red.
We used the phone for quite some time and noticed that neither did the battery drain quickly nor did the phone become very hot. There was a noticeable improvement in the performance of the OS too. The OPPO F5 comes equipped with 4GB RAM and 32 GB memory (expandable up to 256 GB), so you can save all those selfies for posterity. The phone’s 3200mAH battery ensures you can use it for up to 12 hours at a stretch without charging.

The phone has a 6-inch Full High Definition screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 84.2% of screen-to-body ratio, giving you a vivid visual experience. Watch a film, play games, surf the net, all without straining your eyes.
If you receive a call while you’re gaming, you’ll be alerted by way of a banner. No more interrupted gameplays. The multitasker in us was delighted to know that you could run two apps simultaneously side by side on the same screen. As for the phone’s security, stay rest assured. You can use the facial recognition technology to unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds flat or secure it with your fingerprints or a password.

All in all, the OPPO F5 is nothing short of a revolution when it comes to selfies and is a hero in the other departments as well.
