Apple announced its Netflix-rival streaming service at the iPhone launch event in September.

The streaming platform, Apple TV+ will be available from 1 November onwards in over 100 countries, which also includes the Indian market. The company surprised many by pricing it at Rs 99 per month for users in the country.

This has generated curiosity among the Indian audience who are excited to try out premium content on Apple’s platform. It supports 4K resolution quality as well as Dolby Atmos for a better audio experience. But before people start thinking that Apple TV+ will run on all platforms, it’s worth reading about the supported devices that will get the app later this year.

Features of Apple TV+

  • You get a seven-day free trial
  • Content available in 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos
  • Will be launching with seven shows and one movie in its catalogue
  • Ad-free content platform
  • Apple says offline viewing via downloads will be available

If you’re planning to buy an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook, Apple will offer you a one-year free subscription to Apple TV+ service. But what about others, especially those using non-Apple devices? Do they also get the platform and can they also pay Rs 99 and consume its content?

The answer follows.

As you can see, Apple TV+ won’t come to Android users, at least for now. However, select smart TV models from popular brands like Samsung, Sony, LG get the new streaming app from Apple. In addition to this, Amazon will be offering the TV+ app on Fire TV and Fire TV Stick from 1 November. Other streaming devices from brands like Roku will also get it.

People can also head over to this Apple TV+ website, sign in (or sign up) and stream the content via Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser.

For everyone else, you can stick to Netflix/Amazon Prime or Hotstar among others in the country.
