Volkswagen Passat GTE & Tiguan Headed for India at Auto Expo 2016

Volkswagen will launch its made-for-India compact sub-4 metre sedan at the Auto Expo 2016.

Despite the emissions scandal also known as ‘dieselgate’ that hit the company globally with repercussions in Volkswagen India, the automaker is all set to unveil three new products at Delhi Auto Expo 2016.

The company will launch their first compact sedan along with Indian Tiguan, and the Passat GTE.

The Delhi Auto Expo will see the World Premier of the Indian Compact Sedan (ICS) Volkswagen’s premier sub 4-metre sedan, which the company has designed for the Indian market, and is manufactured at the Volkswagen facility in Chakan.

Passat GTE, an environmentally responsible plug-in hybrid, comes with an efficient 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine (115 kW / 156 PS) combined with an electric motor.

Fusion of the two drive units generates a system power of 160 kW / 218 PS and enables a driving range of over 1,000 km.

In all-electric driving, it can cover over 50 km. Passat GTE will also offer a preview to the soon to be launched New Passat in India

The VW Tiguan SUV is also expected to be unvieled at the Auto Expo 2016.
