Ultraviolette F77 Electric Bike Unveiled: Claims 147 Kph Top Speed
The F77 is likely to be priced around Rs 3 lakh and deliveries will begin in October 2020 in Bengaluru.
A Bengaluru-based startup called Ultraviolette has unveiled an electric bike called the F77. This company, which had received a Rs 6 crore investment from TVS Motor Company last year, has plans to compete with petrol bikes in the 200 cc to 250 cc range with its futuristic-looking bike.
Some stats: The bike can do a claimed 147 Kph top speed with a range of between 130-150 Km on a single charge. It comes with three removable battery packs. The company hasn’t shared details of the capacity, but it comes with three different charging options.
A regular household charger can charge it to full charge in about 3 hours for an 80 percent charge. It also has a fast charger that can juice it up to 80 percent in 50 minutes. And the batteries can be removed and charged in a dock for those who live in high-rise buildings.
The Ultraviolette F77 is powered by a 25Kw brush-less DC motor with a chain drive and single-gear reduction. It claims 90 Nm of peak torque at the motor and 450 Nm at the wheel! It can accelerate from 0-60 Kph in 2.92 seconds and 0-100 Kph in 7.3 seconds.
It has regenerative braking, which can be controlled through a mobile app. The app also has other data emerging from the bike, which will help remotely diagnose issues or tweak settings on the bike.
It comes with a trellis-frame chassis, alloy wheels and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. It has a powered battery tray and a fully-faired design. It will compete with bikes like the Revolt RV 400 among electric bikes and KTM 200 Duke in petrol bikes.
The company expects the bike to be priced around Rs 3 lakh. It comes in three colours: red (laser), matte black (shadow) and white (lightning). Deliveries are expected to begin in October 2020 initially only in Bengaluru, before moving to other cities. Actor Dulquer Salmaan is also a benefactor and brand ambassador to the company.
