Renault’s 3 New Kwids & Duster Facelift Unveiled at Auto Expo 2016
The Duster looks more up to date, meanwhile, the Kwid looks more like an SUV.
Renault India is having a good run with the launch of their latest offering, the Kwid, and the company has unveiled three new versions of the Kwid, along with a facelift of one of their bestselling models – the Renault Duster.
The Kwid has managed to gain some momentum in the entry level hatchback segment. It emerged as a rival to the mighty Maruti Suzuki Alto since Alto has been dominating every other offering in the segment.
The Duster, on the other hand, was getting outdated as compared to the other offerings in the segment like the Ford EcoSport and Hyundai’s Creta.
Renault Duster
The Duster now comes with a fresh new design at the front end with some chrome treatment.
The rear end now comes fitted with LED tail lamps and the car will be available in a new paint finish as well called Cayenne Orange.
Under the hood, there is a new 6-speed automated manual transmission system too.
Renault Kwid Easy-R
This version of the Kwid comes with an ‘Easy-R Gear Box’, which is a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
Renault Kwid Climber
Although the Kwid looks like as if it was designed with an SUV in mind, the Climber variant of the car seems to take that design approach further.
The high ground clearance, big bumpers, side protective mouldings, and large wheels add to the SUV image of the car. Keep in mind, though, it is still way too small to be a true-blue SUV.
Renault Kwid Racer
The Racer variant is a completely different approach taken by Renault. This time, the focus seemed to be the tracks instead of off-road terrains.
The bucket seats, low-profile tyres and 18-inch alloy wheels help bring out the aerodynamic lines on the exterior of the Kwid Racer.
Although Renault’s arena seems to offer some eye-catching cars at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, it is only the Kwid 1.0 and the new Duster that you will actually see on the Indian roads as the Racer and Climber are concept models.
