Some want speed while some want luxury, but there are some people who give priority to safety. Usually, it is the sedans like the Mercedes S600 Guard and the Audi A8L Security that come to mind, but how about an SUV?

Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has come out with the Range Rover Sentinel, which made its global debut at the Defence and Security Equipment (DSEI) Show last year, and was showcased in India at the Defence Expo 2016.

Based on the standard wheelbase Range Rover Autobiography, the Sentinel follows VR8 safety standards. What it means is that the car can withstand 7.62 mm bullets, 15 kg Trinitrotoluene (TNT) blasts and DM51 grenade explosions from both beneath the floor and above the roof.

It also has an emergency escape system behind the rear seats, which can be used in case the doors get blocked under attack along with optional extras like the under floor and under bonnet fire suppression systems, a customer configurable siren system, emergency service lights and an external speaker system.

If you are travelling in one of these, chances are that you are a very important person, who handles very important documents. Hence, there is a 100 mm driver window opening for document delivery as well.
