Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM launched its all-new RC 125 fully-faired sports bike in India at a starting price of Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Deliveries will start at the end of June.
KTM bikes are popular with riders who want sporty performance from their machines. While KTM’s entry-level naked bike, the 125 Duke is priced at Rs 1.18 lakh, the RC series is the fully-faired version of the same, with an even more aggressive riding stance.
The RC 125’s design is inspired from its Moto GP RC 16 motorcycle. It features a steel trellis frame, an upside-down front suspension and triple clamp handlebar for better handling. It gets dual projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps.
The RC 125 is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected DOHC engine producing 14.5 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed gearbox. The front and the rear brakes have a 300 mm disc and 230 mm disc respectively, with single-channel ABS acting on the front wheel.
The RC 125 weighs around 154 Kg, with ground clearance of 157 mm, which is pretty generous for a bike with sporty pretensions. It comes in two colour options. The closest rival of the RC 125, considering the price bracket, is the Yamaha R15 V3.
