KTM 790 Duke Launched in India, Priced At Rs 8.64 Lakh
The KTM 790 Duke is a super-sport naked bike that competes with the Triumph Street Triple and Suzuki GSX 750.
The KTM 790 Duke has been launched in India. Prices start at Rs 8.64 lakh ex-showroom.
Nicknamed “The Scalpel”, this naked sports bike is a favourite among performance enthusiasts because of the power output it has. It comes with a 799 cc parallel-twin engine that puts out 105 bhp of power at 9,000 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm with a six-speed transmission. What’s interesting is it weighs just 189 Kg, giving it an incredible power-to-weight ratio.
The KTM 790 Duke competes with the Triumph Street Triple and Suzuki GSX 750 at that price point.

The bike uses a range of electronics to keep all that power in check. It has 18 input sensors that feed data to its ECU. It can track lean angle, torque etc for its stability control program.
The KTM 790 Duke also has cornering ABS. It comes with a slip-assist clutch to help with aggressive downshifts. It comes with four riding modes - rain, street, sport and track which play with the traction control settings on the bikes.
It comes with 17-inch alloys with 120/70 in front and 180/55 tyres at the rear. It has 140 mm front suspension travel with upside-down forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock with 150 mm travel. The lighting is all LED, from daytime running lamps and indicators to the headlamp and tail-lamp.
The KTM 790 Duke is the brand’s entry into the super-bike segment. KTM will organise events such as its Orange Cup - KTM’s one-make racing championship to lure enthusiasts, besides regular track days for customers to test out the limits of their bikes.
KTM bikes are available in 360 towns in India through about 460 showrooms and dealerships. The KTM 790 Duke will initially be available in 9 cities.
