GM Recalls 22K Chevrolet Cruze Units for Ignition System Fault

• The Indian arm of American car maker, General Motors India, has called for a voluntary product recall of 22,000 units of its popular sedan, Chevrolet Cruze.
  
  
• The recall is over an issue faced by vehicles where they experienced loss of ignition or stalling of the engine at low vehicle speed. The recall will be of cars sold between 2009-2011.
  
  
• The company has said that the repairs of the affected vehicles will take no more than an hour. The company has also asked its service networks to streamline the process of inspection and repairs to help nullify any inconvenience caused to the customers.
  
• 
  In 2013, General Motors India had recalled 1.14 lakh units of its multi-purpose vehicle Chevrolet Tavera to address emission and specification issues.
