Ford Brings Apple CarPlay & Android Auto With SYNC 3 At CES 2016

Ford’s 2016 models will automatically get updated to the latest software ecosystem for cars.

We’re all set for smart-auto 2016 as Ford looks to expand its SYNC connectivity system with support from multiple connectivity options and different auto ecosystem available in the market.

With SYNC, we move at our customers’ pace – making it easy for them to maintain a connected lifestyle no matter what their choice of smartphone, apps or services inside and outside their vehicle is.</p>

The company claims that owners of SYNC 3-equipped vehicles will have more choice in how they access their smartphones in the car. iPhone users can activate Apple CarPlay, and Android users can activate Android Auto, two interfaces built specifically for those types of smartphones.

In addition, new SYNC Connect technology powered by 4G LTE gives owners the ability to remotely access features of their car. Owners can program a remote start, unlock doors, check fuel levels or locate a parked vehicle via their smartphone.

Ford is eager to broaden its base in North America, where all Ford vehicles are expected to be powered with SYNC 3 via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto by 2017.
