It has been a day since the Tesla Model 3 was launched, and Tesla Motor’s CEO has shared the number of cars that have been booked within Day 1 itself. Being an electric car from a relatively new company, you might not expect great response, but that is not the case. Musk says 1,80,000 preorders were placed in the first 24 hours since the booking opened on 30 March, the day of its launch.

The Model 3, which has a starting price of $35,000, can be booked for a $1000 which is also refundable just in case you change your mind. What are the possibilities of that happening? Pretty much.

The car is expected to hit production by the end of 2017, but given the company’s image, it might take longer as they have never launched their other models within the promised time frame.

Nevertheless, Telsa’s CEO shared the number of booking that the company has received via his Twitter account. It says that 1.8 lakh units have already been booked in 24 hours, making the total amount in bookings made, going up to a whopping $7.5 Billion.

That’s BILLIONS, in a single day. It seems that if this kind of money keeps flowing in to Telsa Motors, they might just have an on-time deliveries with the Model 3.
