BMW Motorrad’s India Debut of G310R And G310 GS Slated For 18 July

It’s finally happening. BMW Motorrad has sent out media invites for the launch of its G310R and G310 GS bikes in India. The company will reveal the pricing and availability details of the bikes on 18 July.

BMW Motorrad, last month, announced that the G310 R and the G310 GS motorbikes will be available for booking in India. BMW has set the booking amount at Rs 50,000 for both bikes.

The G310 R is the product that the TVS Apache 310RR is based on.

At first glance, you’ll notice the short wheelbase and the naked bike character, which gives the G310 R an agile and dynamic look.

The G310 R has been made by the Motorrad team in collaboration with TVS for the Indian market, which according to them is likely to help them price this two-wheeler aggressively.

The engine is a single-cylinder 313 cc engine with electronic fuel injection. It produces an impressive 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

The power figures for the segment are impressive and they appeal even more when you throw the weight of the bike into the equation.

These bikes are finally coming to town. 

At a mere 158.5 kilograms, riders might need to hold onto the handlebar a little tighter.

It comes fitted with 2-channel ABS as standard. In the front, there is a 300 mm single-disc brake with radially bolted 4-piston fixed caliper. At the back, this function is performed by a 240-millimetre brake disc with 2-piston floating caliper in conjunction.

BMW G310 GS.

While the G310 R is the naked version, the G310 GS differentiates itself with a faring and windscreen in tow.

Both bikes can be treated as adventure tourers, but everything now comes down to how aggressive BMW Motorrad can get with them. The same brand has launched the 750 GS and 850 GS, which have been priced starting from Rs 12.25 lakh (ex-showroom), but we really hope that the G310 R doesn’t go into the pricey segment.

We expect the G310 R to be priced at around Rs 3 lakh. The G310 GS will be priced at around Rs 3.5 lakh. Stay tuned to The Quint for updates from the event in few weeks from now.
