Nokia 8 Gets Price Drop of Rs 7,000 in India
Nokia 8 from HMD Global, which was launched last year, got a sizeable price cut in India on Thursday, 1 February. The price drop was first spotted offline, but now even Amazon is listing the product with its revised pricing.
According to Amazon, Nokia 8 will now be available for Rs 28,999, which is a Rs 7,000 price drop from its launch pricing of Rs 35,999. The price drop would apply to both online as well as offline stores across the country.
Nokia 8 is their first Android smartphone with dual rear cameras, and first in the market to support what HMD Global calls a ‘Bothie’. With this feature, users can stream via Facebook using both the front and back camera, giving visuals from both sides.
HMD Global did surprise users by pricing Nokia 8 under Rs 40,000 last year, but with the revised price, it is cheaper than its competitors, namely OnePlus 5T and Honor 8 Pro.

Nokia 8 packs a 5.3-inch 2560x1440 pixel display, now running on latest Android version 8.0 Oreo and promised to get up to Android P faster than most mobile brands can offer. This is also the first dual camera setup on mobile by Zeiss Optics, but the quality didn’t impress us much, especially when compared with the likes of OnePlus 5 and the Honor 8 Pro.
The phone may not be the thinnest in the segment, but with an overall figure of 7.9-mm and weighing 160 grams, you still get a battery unit sized at 3090mAh, which isn’t bad at all. For a phone that costs under 30K now, Nokia 8 is a reliable phone which fulfills all your daily needs, can be a competent gaming and a camera-oriented device.
