Opener Rohit Sharma became the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to breach the 600-run mark in a single edition of the World Cup, on Saturday, 6 July.
Rohit achieved the feat during India’s last group stage match against Sri Lanka at Leeds. Tendulkar holds the record for the most runs by an Indian at a World Cup, having scored 673 in the 2003 edition.
The other players in the list are Matthew Hayden (659 in 2007) and Shakib Al Hasan (606 in 2019).
Rohit also surpassed Shakin in the highest run-getters list at the ongoing World Cup, during the game.
