India vs Pakistan Manchester Weather: Another Washout for Fans?

Indian fans lost on the India vs New Zealand on on Thursday, 13 June.

India will play Pakistan at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday, 16 June in the ICC World Cup 2019.

With just a day to go for the much-anticipated, high octane World Cup clash between India and Pakistan, cricket fans across the globe are praying that the rain gods stay away from Old Trafford on Sunday.

So far, four matches have been abandoned in the ongoing World Cup, including India’s last fixture against New Zealand. The game in Trent Bridge was called off without a ball being bowled.

Two days before the India-Pakistan clash, Manchester received heavy rainfall. The pitch was under the hover cover and the square was covered by sheets. However, few hours later, the rain went away and there was bright sunshine. This has raised hopes of the cricket fans who have come in from all parts of the world to witness one of the greatest cricket rivalry.

According to AccuWeather, it will be overcast throughout Sunday in Manchester with rainfall predicted every few hours. According to the weather forecast platform, rainfall is expected at 10 am, 11 am, 3 pm, 5 pm and 8 pm (all local time).

The website further predicted that the conditions will remain overcast throughout the day with the temperature hovering around 17 degree Celsius.

BCCI also tweeted a cloudy picture of the field saying “Hello Manchester”.

A video of Kedar Jadhav asking the rain to ‘go away’ went viral on social media as fans wished for the same.

Angry cricket fans have been showcasing their disappointment on social media over the weather, timing and venue of the World Cup 2019 series. Many have also questioned ICC’s stand on reserve days for such conditions.
