With the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2019 World Cup just around the corner, all the teams are prepping for the mega event vigorously. The warm-up matches are being played among the 10 participating teams between 24 May and 28 May.
India will be playing one warm up match on 25 May, 2019 (today) against New Zealand. There will be two warm up matches everyday. These matches will begin at 10 am according to the local time, which is 3 pm (IST).
These matches will help the teams to sharpen their skills and make any required last-minute changes. While the fixture do not enjoy international status, they are religiously followed by their fans. These warm up matches will have live telecast and streamed by the broadcasters.
All the warm up matches including those being played by India against New Zealand and Bangladesh will be live streamed by Hotstar, the online streaming platform.
Live telecast of India vs New Zealand warm up match will be available on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of ICC World Cup in India.
Team India’s next warm up match is scheduled on 28 May. They will be playing against the Bangladesh.
11 players will field in these warm up matches as usual, however, there are no restrictions on the playing 11. This will allow the entire squad to practice before the main event. Teams will be able to play all their bowlers while fielding and replace them while batting.
Executive Vice-President Star TV Network Sanjog Gupta confirmed that all these 10 warm up matches will be aired live.
The ICC World Cup will commence with a match between England, the host country and South Africa on 30 May. It will be played at the Kennington Oval. India’s first match will be against South Africa on 5 June which will played in Southampton.
India will be launching their campaign at the ICC World Cup with a match against South Africa. Last time India had launched their campaign in 1999 World Cup also hosted by England.
