English openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow got England off to a wonderful start, with the later scoring a century against India in their league match in ICC World Cup 2019.

Roy too, scored a half century.

After choosing to bat first, the duo batted positively right from the beginning and were especially brutal on the spinners - Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Together, Roy and Bairstow put up 160 runs in 22 overs before Roy departed for a 57-ball 66. Notably, this is Roy’s comeback match after he was ruled out with a hip injury.

Bairstow meanwhile, kept on and proceeded to score a century off 90 balls, with the help of eight boundaries and half a dozen sixes. He eventually holed out to Rishabh Pant off Shami’s bowling after making 111 off 109 balls.
