"The boos? No, we don't really hear that when we're out there,” said David Warner after his century helped Australia win against Pakistan by 41 runs in the World Cup match held on Wednesday, 12 June in Taunton.
This was his first international century since completing the ball-tampering ban.
However, it was not an easy road after the comeback. Fans were quick to express their discontent with the incident and booed Warner during the matches. Dismissing being affected, Warner said “you get it all the time.”
When asked if there were any doubts about him returning to the international cricket after his ban, he said “I was always coming back to international cricket, if selected. The thing that kept me going was with my wife and my kids. Got great support, a home, my family and my wife is just a... you know, she's just my rock. She's unbelievable.”
However, Warner had his inhibitions over getting another chance to play international cricket for Australia.
Warner had feared not scoring a hundred in international cricket following his ball-tampering ban but the Australian opener dispelled those fears by making a match-winning 107 against Pakistan.
