Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, who is looking to make a comeback at the China Super Series Premier after a knee injury, feels that her career may be coming to an end.

Nehwal, who underwent surgery, is hoping to be in action on 15 November. The badminton player has started training but still needs to regain full fitness. Only a week before, she was bed-ridden after the surgery.

It is okay, many people will think my career will end and I won’t come back. I also think somewhere deep in my heart that maybe it is the end of my career, so let’s see how it is. Maybe, you never know. I will be more than happy if people think I am finished, it is nice in a way, people think a lot about me, maybe now they won’t. I am going to think about the next one year, it is year by year now, I am not going to set a target for the next five to six years now.

The Hyderabadi star has been out of competitive action since 20 August. Saina crashed out of the first round in the Olympics due to an infra-patellar spur displaced fracture and patellar tendon impingement in her right knee.

Nehwal went through a rehabilitation process under leading physiotherapist Heath Matthews for two months after her surgery and started regular training under coach Vimal Kumar at the Karnataka Badminton Association recently.
