If the fans in Guwahati witnessed Virat Kohli surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of fastest to 60 international hundreds, fans in Visakhapatnam can boast of being in the stands when the Virat Kohli became the fastest batsmen to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket on Wednesday.

Kohli reached the landmark when was on 81 against West Indies in the second ODI, and remained unbeaten on 157 at the end of the innings.

This time too Kohli went past a record previously held by Sachin Tendulkar, who took 259 innings to reach the milestone and was also the first cricketer to do so. Meanwhile, Kohli took only 205 innings to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.

In the process, Virat Kohli became the 13th batsman to cross the 10,000-run mark and the fifth Indian to do so.

On Sunday against West Indies in the first ODI at Guwahati, Kohli also became the fastest cricketer to score 60 international hundreds.

He again broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who took 426 innings whereas Kohli reached the landmark in 40 fewer innings. Kohli, who has now scored 37 ODI and 24 Test centuries, is the fifth cricketer to hit 61 international tons.

Kohli had also equalled another record set by Tendulkar of scoring more than 2,000 international runs in a calendar year for India for a record fifth time.

Apart from Tendulkar & Kohli, Sourav Ganguly (4) and Rahul Dravid (3) are the other two Indian cricketers, who have achieved the feat.
