Ajeet Kumar from Bihar became the fourth contestant to win Rs 1 crore in the eleventh season of the Amitabh Bachhan-hosted game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

The ultimate prize money of Rs 7 crore eluded him, and all because of one question about cricket that he didn’t know the answer to.

After having won a crore, Ajeet was asked the ultimate question that could have helped him multiply his winnings by seven. The question presented itself on his screen and read ‘Who is the first cricketer to score two T20 international fifties on the same day in two different matches?’

The options were former Afghanistan cricket team captain Nawroz Mangal, Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad and recently suspended Bangladeshi all-rounder and captain Shakib Al Hasan.

The contestant couldn’t figure out the answer and left with his winnings intact. After Amitabh Bachchan asked him to make a guess, he guessed that the answer is Nawroz Mangal.

The correct answer was Mohammad Shahzad, who achieved the feat on 20 January 2017, during Desert T20 Challenge. Shahzad scored two half-centuries on the same day in different games by first scoring 80 against Oman and then going for an unbeaten 52 against Ireland.
