Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their sixth straight defeat of IPL 2019 after being handed a four wicket loss by the Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli was visibly dejected after the loss as it drastically reduces the team’s chance of reaching the final four stage.
Drop catches and misfields did not help RCB as they lived to rue the missed chances. They did manage to get some wickets at the fag end of the innings but that was not enough to restrict Delhi from notching up their third win of the season.
Chasing 149 to win, Delhi rode high on skipper Shreyas Iyer’s knock of 67. The cameos of Rishabh Pant (18) and Colin Ingram (22) made Iyer’s job easier as both collaborated in crucial partnerships with the right-hander.
Delhi have now moved up to fifth in the points table with three wins and as many losses from six games.
