Friday night in Eden Gardens provided IPL 2019 with yet another scintillating game of cricket.

With more than 400 runs scored on the night, Royal Challengers Bangalore got past Kolkata Knight Riders in the last over by 10 runs.

Having posted a total of 213/4 in 20 overs, RCB had well and truly put the game in the bag, when they had picked up four wickets for 79 and KKR needed 135 more to win in 55 balls.

It was then that Nitish Rana (9X4’s, 5X6’s) and Andre Russell (2X4’s, 9X6’s) put together a thunderous partnership of 118 runs for the fifth wicket off 54 balls.

But in the last over when KKR needed 24 to win, Moeen Ali stepped in and delivered three dot balls, that included a run out of Andre Russell.

Twitter couldn’t help but applaud this unreal performance from Rana and Russell to keep their side in the game till the very end.

Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa came under the scanner for his slow innings at a time when KKR needed to all guns blazing. The 33-year-old scored 9 off 20 balls before getting out to Marcus Stoinis in the 12th over.

The fans also praised Moeen Ali for again coming to the rescue of his side in the last over. Ali gave 13 in the final over as KKR fell short by 11 runs. The 31-year old also put in a 90 run partnership with his skipper while scoring a 28-ball 66 that included five fours and six sixes.

Despite RCB winning, neither of the side’s position on the points table gets affected, with RCB still at the bottom of the table and KKR at the sixth place.
