Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni failed to get going with the bat as well. He was run out for just 2 as he tried to sneak a cheeky single in the 13th over.
Earlier in the day, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat. Some good bowling by the CSK bowlers restricted Mumbai to 149/8 with Kieron Pollard top-scoring with an unbeaten 41.
