‘Well Played Jadeja,’ Says Manjrekar in Cheeky Tweet After WC Loss

This is India’s second straight semi-final exit after they lost to Australia in the 2015 semifinal.

While India was knocked out of the ICC World Cup 2019 on Wednesday, 10 July, after losing by 18 runs to New Zealand, Ravindra Jadeja’s 77 did not go unappreciated by the fans or the captain.

Jadeja almost won the match for India with a score of 77 off 59 balls. He shared a 116-run stand with MS Dhoni (50) to keep India in the hunt after the top order collapsed. Jadeja’s wicked sounded the death knell for India, with Dhoni being run out soon after.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar congratulated Jadeja for his almost match-winning knock.

This comes after Ravindra Jadeja told the commentator he has had enough of his “verbal diarrhoea.”

Manjrekar had targeted Ravindra Jadeja and called him a bits-and-pieces cricketer.

"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS.
