India collapsed from 179/0 to 314/9 as the middle-order failed to fire again against Bangladesh in Birmingham on Tuesday, 2 July.

After opting to bat first, Rohit Sharma (104) and KL Rahul (77) added 180 for the first wicket. Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored just 26 off of 27 balls.

The Indian innings went onto lose all the momentum in the next phase of their innings. The middle order of Hardik Pandya (0), MS Dhoni (35) and Dinesh Karthik (8) again failed to capitalise on the good start. Rishabh Pant scored 48 in what was the only bright spot in the otherwise pale middle-order.

What transpired in the final 10 overs of the Indian innings was heartbreaking for Indian fans. From 180 for 1 after Rohit’s dismissal, India lost the next eight wickets for just 134 runs.

Once again, the Indian middle-order failed to step up and here’s how Twitter reacted to this batting collapse against Bangladesh
