MS Dhoni’s experience as an international cricketer was considered as a big plus for India coming into this World Cup. Not only as a player, but also his experience as a former skipper of the side along with his understanding of the game helped keep India head and shoulders above other teams during the league stage of the tournament.

However during the ongoing ICC World Cup, speculations about Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket started doing the rounds in the media.

Virat Kohli in his post-match presser, however, denied giving any final word on this development.

India were pre-tournament favourites and Dhoni’s presence in the team was considered a big bonus as well.

Throughout the campaign, Dhoni stood like a rock behind the team and his teammates, guiding them to perform to their best in the tournament.

In the semifinal, when India was almost down and out, it was the Dhoni-Jadeja stand which almost won the game for India.

Now with the news of Dhoni’s retirement making enough noise, the Indian fans are asking the former Indian skipper not to retire so soon.

Requests of people asking him to continue playing for India have been coming in huge numbers on Twitter.

This is what fans had to say on MS Dhoni’s retirement news.
