B’Desh Make the Right Noise on Twitter Despite Losing to Australia

Bangladesh have impressed one and all so far in the World Cup with their attitude and fighting spirit.

In yet another run-fest at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, Bangladesh fell short by 48 runs against Australian while chasing a target of 382 on Thursday, 20 June.

Bangladesh lost the encounter despite an unbeaten 102 from wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim. But in the process the team from the sub-continent won hearts for their spirited chase.

While chasing a mammoth total of 382, Bangladesh never showed lack of intent and were giving Australia a tough fight till the very end. It was only after the dismissal of Mahmudullah in the 46th over, Australia heaved a sigh of relief. Till then Bangladesh were well with an outside chance of overhauling the target.

Bangladesh in their earnest attempt couldn’t go past the Australian total but they still bettered their previous highest score in ODIs and Mushfiqur also scored his first World Cup century.

One of the dark horses to make it to the top four in this edition of the World Cup, Bangladesh have impressed one and all so far with their attitude and fighting spirit, and once again on Thursday made the right kind of noise on Twitter despite the loss.

This is not the first time in the competition that Bangladesh tried punching above their weight. In fact, in their very first match of the World Cup this time, they beat South Africa before prevailing against West Indies in the previous match.

The defeat doesn’t mean end of road for the Bangladesh team. They now have to win their last three matches against Afghanistan, mighty India, and Pakistan to give themselves a fighting chance to make it to their first World Cup semi-finals.
