Sourav Ganguly, who is part of the cricket advisory committee (CAC), was absent when one of the applicants for India’s head coach job – Ravi Shastri was interviewed, according to The Indian Express.
According to reports, the former Indian team director was interviewed between 5 to 6pm. Shastri gave his interview from Bangkok via Skype to the other members of the CAC.
VVS Laxman and BCCI convenor Sanjay Jagdale were present at the Taj Bengal hotel and Sachin Tendulkar joined them through Skype from London.
During Shastri’s interview, Sourav Ganguly was at the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), attending a working committee meeting.
After the meeting, the former Indian captain told the media that Anil Kumble, Pravin Amre, and Lalchand Rajput gave their interviews in person and Ravi Shastri’s interview was conducted via skype.
Ganguly and Jagdale have been unavailable for comment on this issue.
Ravi Shastri also expressed to The Indian Express that he was disappointed about not getting the coaching job.
