1. Kohli, Ashwin, Jadeja Put India on Course For Victory on Day 4

India put themselves on the cusp of completing a comprehensive series victory with England caught in a spin web following skipper Virat Kohli's career-best 235 at the end of the fourth day of the fourth Test at Mumbai on Sunday.

Kohli's third double ton in as many Test series was complemented by Jayant Yadav's maiden Test hundred with India piling up a mammoth 631 runs thereby taking a lead of 231 runs.

In reply, England were left tottering at 182 for 6 needing another 49 runs to avoid innings defeat at the end of Day 4. Ravichandran Ashwin (2/49), Ravindra Jadeja (2/58) and Jayant Yadav (1/39) shared five of the six wickets. The other wicket-taker was Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/11).

2. Mohammed Shami, Wriddhiman Saha Ruled Out of Fifth Test vs England

India's injured fast bowler Mohammed Shami and first-choice wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha were on Sunday ruled out of contention for the fifth and final Test against England, to be held in Chennai from 16 to 20 December.

Both players missed the ongoing Mumbai Test owing to injuries. While Saha suffered a hamstring tendon injury in the second Test against England at Vizag, Shami had been troubled by an injury on his right leg through the series and has now been advised.

3. Indian Aces End Runner-up Again, Lose IPTL Final to Slammers

Defending champions Singapore Slammers retained the IPTL title with a dominating 30-14 win in the summit clash at Hyderabad on Sunday. Indian Aces’ failed to win even a single match on Sunday, letting the hopes of the title slip away once again.

Sania Mirza who came in as a substitute for Kirsten Flipken, lost the women's singles 3-6 to Kiki Bertens. Sania with her partner Rohan Bopanna also lost the mixed doubles set 1-6 to Marcelo Melo and Bertens.

Nick Kyrgios and Melo won the men’s double 6-2, while Marcos Baghdatis completed the win with a 6-4 win over Feliciano in the men’s singles.

4. Pitches Have Taken Kohli's Glitches Out of Equation: Anderson

Virat Kohli may be going through a purple patch of his international career, but England fast bowler Jimmy Anderson took a slight dig saying that the Indian captain’s technical glitches if any, weren’t visible because of the helpful Indian tracks which lacks pace and movement.

Asked what has changed in Kohli's technique, Anderson said:

I am not sure if he (Kohli) has changed. I just think any technical deficiencies he has got are not in play out here. The wickets just take that out of the equation. There is not that pace in the wicket to get the nicks, like we did against him in England – with a bit more movement.

5. Costa Rescues Another Win for Premier League Leader Chelsea

Fiery striker Diego Costa used his aggression in the right way to keep Chelsea's winning run going in the English Premier League on Sunday. Costa muscled West Bromwich Albion defender Gareth McAuley off the ball before cutting inside and curling a shot into the top corner in the 76th minute to seal a 1-0 win for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

In the other English Premier League matches, Manchester United beat Tottenham 1-0, Liverpool drew West Ham 2-2 and Middlesbrough lost to Southampton 0-1.

6. Kerala Blasters Beat Delhi Dynamos 1-0 in First Leg Semifinals

Kerala Blasters FC got a slender, but important advantage in their Hero Indian Super League second leg semi-final, after they beat Delhi Dynamos FC 1-0 in the first leg at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, on Sunday.

Kerala Blasters continued with their impressive home run as they registered their sixth consecutive home win, thanks to a 65th minute strike from Kervens Belfort. With Mehtab Hossain returning from suspension and Josu Prieto also back, Kerala were at their best.

The second leg between the two teams will be played in Delhi on Wednesday.
