While on one hand we saw Indian fans express anger after Pakistan thrashed India in the Champions Trophy finals held last Sunday, we also saw glimpses of unity and friendship between those from the two countries.

Even if these instances were rare, it was touching to see Indian and Pakistan cricket team players and the common man engage in humour and friendship.

In this video, shot in the London tube, you can see men in the Pakistan jersey sing a Hindi song when men wearing the Indian jersey join them chanting, “Jeeve jeeve, Pakistan (Long live, Pakistan).”

Soon they all start chanting, “Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad,” together.

The man in the Pakistan jersey says, “We love India, we love Pakistan,” as he hugs the Indian symbolising solidarity.

India, Pakistan Players Share a Laugh

Similarly, in this video Kohli and Yuvraj Singh are seen sharing a laugh with Shoaib Malik and Pakistan bowling coach, former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood after the match.

While sport rivalry might last during the game, light conversation continues before and after.
