Day 1 of Auction Ends

That’s it folks! Day 1 of the Pro Kabaddi League auction is all wrapped up with ‘Category A’ Indian players, the international stars and ‘new young stars’ going under the hammer.

Rahul Chaudhari, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Rishank Devadiga and Nitin Tomar were the other players who breached the six figure mark. Fazel Atrachali is the highest valued international player, sold for Rs 1 crore to U Mumba.

Day 2 of the auction starts at 10am tomorrow!

Monu Goyat Breaks The Bank!

39 PKL matches and 250 raid points to his name but Monu Goyat also attracts a heavy bidding war. He’s left behind Rahul’s bid of Rs 1.29 crore with ease as Mumbai raise the paddle to make it Rs 1.30 crore.

Haryana and Delhi then take it to Rs 1.49 when Patna Pirates join the party at Rs 1.50 crore!

Haryana Steelers than increase it to Rs 1.51 crore and there are no matching bids.

Rahul Chaudhari Becomes Most Expensive Player

Jaipur Pink Panthers started the bid at Rs 20 lakh and Patna Pirates took it straight to Rs 60 lakh.

The 1 Crore bid also was made by Patna Pirates with matching bids from Delhi and Mumbai. Delhi finally make the winning bid of Rs 1.29 Cr.

However, Telugu Titans use the ‘FBM’ for him and Rahul stays back at his team from last season.

At Rs 1.29 crore, he is now the most expensive player in PKL history.

I had no idea my bid would go this high. I thought it would be around Rs 1 crore.
Rahul Chaudhari

Rishank Devadiga Attracts Second-Highest Bid

80 Pro Kabaddi League matches, 449 raid points and ‘Mr Consistent’ finds many bidders.

Delhi, Mumbai and Haryana take it to Rs 1.11 crore and Dabang Delhi seem to have clinched this one.

BUT... Even as there are smiles around the Delhi table, the UP Yoddhas lift their ‘FBM’ card and Rishank stays back in the NCR region!

Rs 1.11 crore the second-most expensive bid.

I never thought this would happen to me. A bid for Rs 1 crore is a big thing for me. Now that I have been purchased for such a high bid, I will need to give my everything to the team.
Rishank Devadiga

Anup Kumar Joins Jaipur

‘Captain cool’ they call Anup Kumar but the PKL stalwart doesn't find many takers as Jaipur Pink Panthers pick him for Rs 30 lakh. In his 78 PKL matches, Amit has collected 489 raid points.

Is this a steal for Jaipur?

Nitin Tomar Sold for Rs 1.15 Crore

Starting from a base price of Rs 20 lakh, Puneri Paltan took the bid to Rs 1.15 crore and found no one matching the bid. The raider has found a new team and is now the joint most-expensive player of the season (so far).

Jaipur Pick Sandeep Dhull

Having just lost Surendra Nada to Haryana courtesy the ‘Final Bid Match,’ Abhishek Bachchan’s Jaipur Pink Panthers step it up for defender Sandeep Dhull. It’s a bidding war between Gujarat Fortunegiants and JPP and finally, Jaipur come out on top. Sandeep Dhull has been bought for Rs 66 lakh.

There is no ‘Final Bid Match’ here.

Haryana 'FBM' Surendra Nada

UP Yodhas and Jaipur Pink Panthers fight it out for defender Surendra Nada and it is Abhishek Bachchan’s table that comes out on top with a bid of Rs 75 lakh.

But... with Nada having played for Haryana Steelers last season, the auctioneer asks the franchise if they want to use their ‘Final Bid Match’ card and well, they do.

Surendra Nada has been retained Haryana for Rs 75 lakh.

Panters Pick Chillar

Mohit Chillar had been the most expensive player in PKL when he was bought by Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 53 lakh in 2016 but this time round, the defender could not get near the Rs 1 crore match as Jaipur Pink Panthers added him to their team for Rs 58 lakh.

Jeeva Kumar to UP

The defender started on a base price of Rs 20 lakh and was ultimately bought by UP Yoddhas for Rs 45 lakh.

Deepak Hooda Bought For Rs 1.15 crore

One of the best all-rounders of Pro Kabaddi League, Deepak Hooda has become the first Indian to be bought for Rs 1 crore. In fact, he is the most expensive player in Pro Kabaddi history!

Starting from a base price of Rs 20 lakh, Hooda saw heavy bidding from Dabang Delhi, Haryana Steelers and Jaipur Pink Panthers with Abhishek Bachchan’s franchise finally bagging him for Rs 1.15 crore.

I didn’t expect such a high bid but when Fazel Atrazchali was sold for Rs 1 crore I did think my bid would be high. There are also new responsibilities now and I have to improve my performance. I can’t say for sure but I will try my best to do well and help the team win the trophy this time round.
