In a candid chat with The Quint, boxer Sarita Devi expressed that she had the biggest fight during a flight post demonetisation. Devi said that she wasn’t aware that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were demonetised when she wanted to pay for the food she had eaten on the flight.

“We had our biggest fight during a flight. We didn’t know that certain notes were demonetised. So we didn’t have the required amount of money with us. Our cards were also not working, but we had to eat something. My husband and I were travelling from Imphal to Delhi. We gave old notes during the flight but they were not taking it. We ate our food so we couldn’t give it back. We had to meet the police at the airport.”
