  • Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita Ambani has been nominated for membership in the International Olympic Committee – she will be the first Indian woman to be on the apex sporting body if she gets elected at the IOC Session scheduled from 2 to 4 August.


  • Her nomination is acknowledgement of her work at the grassroots level and in promoting education and sports.


  • Ambani said that she believes in the power of sport to shape our youth, to bring together communities and bridge gaps between cultures and generations. She added that she is grateful to IOC for the opportunity and is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute in meeting the goals of IOC.
