Chris Morris

Bids for the South African all rounder began at Rs 50 Lakh. No one dreamed that he would end up bagging a whooping Rs 7cr bid from Delhi Daredevils. Chris Morris has had a spectacular IPL in 2015 at the now defunct Rajasthan Royals, bagging 13 wickets for the team.

When the Chennai cricketer made his debut on 2 January 2016, he wouldnt have dreamt that he’d be this much in demand at the auctions. Even though Pune bagged heavyweights like Kevin Pietersen, Irfan Pathan and Ishant Sharma, this uncapped spinner managed to be Pune’s second most expensive buy. He sold for Rs 4.5 cr, just behind Mitchel Marsh.

The West Indian all-rounder was initially priced at Rs 30 Lakh. However, he joins the list of Caribbean players entertaining Indian cricket fans at IPL, bagging a massive Rs 4.20 cr from the Delhi Daredevils.

Deepak Hooda
