Wherever CSK skipper MS Dhoni goes, his two-month-old daughter Ziva goes with him. Along with wife Sakshi Rawat, the trio has been photographed often in the last few weeks - since Dhoni returned home from the World Cup - jet-setting across the country for the Chennai Super Kings’ IPL matches.

While he may be only too keen to be photographed with the toddler, the Indian skipper has consistently refused to answer any questions about the little one. Till now.

In a press event in Bengaluru, Dhoni finally opened up about the birth of his daughter and the long wait period he had to endure to finally meet her.

“When she was born I was not in India, had not seen her. It was a tough period,” Dhoni said, referring to his World Cup commitments after the baby was born in early February.

Adding to his comment, the Indian skipper said, “Your life does change with the kind of smile the baby gives you.”

Clearly besotted with his newborn, Dhoni further said, “She doesn’t care whether I play for my country or play for a good franchisee like Chennai. If she wants to cry, she cries. It gives a very good feeling.”

MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Rawat gave birth to the couple’s first child in February when Dhoni was in Australia for India’s World Cup campaign.
