Messi, Suarez, Ronaldo in Running for UEFA Best Player Award

Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been nominated for the UEFA’s best player of Europe award.

Barcelona’s Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo have been nominated for the UEFA’s best player of Europe award for the 2014-15 season.

The three stars topped a Europe-wide poll of journalists of 54 members who chose from a 10-player shortlist. The same panel will choose the winner at the Champions League group draw at Monaco on August 27.

Both Messi and Ronaldo were tied on 77 goals last season. Whereas, Suarez was nominated despite starting his season in late-October after serving a FIFA ban for biting at the World Cup.

The Barcelona striker scored the decisive goal in his team’s 3-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League final.
